Meet The Blackpack This Friday

the blackpack at the clayton center the blackpack at The Clayton Center The Blackpack at The Clayton CenterWe’ve been talking about The Blackpack and their show All Laughs Matter, scheduled for Friday, January 20, at 8 PM here at The Clayton Center. But who are these guys?

Meet Vince Morris, BT, and Billy D. Washington. Three headliners. One stage. All celebrating our differences, one joke at a time.

If you ask the guys why they chose this title for their show, they will tell that it’s because at some point in their career, each of them has been accused of not being true to their heritage…their culture…and their profession. They say they have been considered to be “Too Black for one venue. Not Black enough for another.”

But, funny is funny, right? And these guys are funny. They celebrate individualism with their motto: “Be yourself. Because everybody else is already taken.”

The Blackpack members are former Houston police officer, Billy D Washington. Billy D followed his heart, took to the stage and has since assembled a pretty impressive body of work. He has been featured at the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival twice and the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival and traveled for three years as the opening act for The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. He has also appeared on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, and Last Comic Standing, among other late night show appearances.

Vince Morris is one of the hottest up and coming comedy veterans on the scene today. No stranger to television, Vince has appeared on BET’s Comic View, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, CBS’ Late Late Show and Comics Unleashed W/Byron Allen. He also starred in his own  half hour Comedy Central Special.

BT jokingly refers to himself as “a Black redneck with a rock star attitude.” He has performed in more than 43 states and three countries and has been seen in numerous television shows from the Sci-Fi Channels’ “Black Scorpion” to the critically acclaimed HBO movie “Suckers.” He has been on MTV, BET, and VH1. BT and his Jerry Lewis-style energy is a favorite in the nationally touring comedy show “SELLOUT.”

Check out The Blackpack this Friday. Tickets are $25, plus sales tax and fees. Presented in partnership with Sinclair Entertainment. Purchase tickets here.

All Laughs Really Do Matter

The Blackpack – three very funny African-American comedians – bring their show, All Laughs Matter, to The Clayton Center stage on Friday, January 20, at 8 PM. And while the Blackpack’s theme is a good-natured, often brutally honest look at our national political spectrum, the show’s title highlights a universal truth: All laughs matter because […]
